In Fall 2003, the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM) opted for a competitiveness strategy based on the dynamic of innovative clusters. This strategy aimed to develop a culture of innovation and to invest in technological development.
TechnoMontréal (the ICT cluster) is among the eight clusters, out of 15 targeted in 2004, that are now structured within Greater Montreal. Since its foundation in 2007, TechnoMontréal has encouraged innovation and the knowledge economy in order to contribute to building the economy of the 21st century.
