K2 Geospatial announces the RAC’s New Canadian Rail Portal creation
K2 Geospatial, geospatial software company and the editor of JMap, is pleased to announce the creation of the Canadian Rail Portal. Initiated by the Railway Association of Canada (RAC), the Portal was built using JMap, K2 Geospatial’s map-based integration platform. It provides the members of the RAC with a critical and strategic tool.
The idea of the portal arose from a need to provide online access to the Canadian Railway Atlas and its data on Canada’s 45 000-km railway network. Thanks to JMap, the RAC can now offer a map-based overview of the entire network in real time, along with powerful geospatial tools, all of which are accessed through a user-friendly interface. This visual representation of the network results from a consolidation of data from various private and public sources.
